Lawsuit

lawsuitA lawsuit against a care provider is a demand for compensation (money) because of something the provider did wrong.  Our office files such suits on behalf of elders or dependent adults (or their families if they are deceased).  To determine if a lawsuit is warranted, we obtain records from all relevant providers and have them evaluated by one or more experts.  If the experts believe there was wrongdoing, that the wrongdoing caused injuries and that those injuries were severe, we can then consider suing the provider involved.  We take such cases on contingency, which means we advance all costs and do not receive a fee or recoup any costs unless and until we obtain a settlement or jury verdict for the victim.  Our fee is a percentage of whatever compensation we obtain.
